A YOJ expert

Seems like this week’s spiritual test has been to show me how I’m lacking in love towards those Christian people in my life… not friends, but rather people who claim the same faith I do and whose behavior or words have been greatly offensive to either myself, my family, or what I would consider the cause of Christ in the world.

While these offenses have been occurring, each time I’ve gotten rather, um… perturbed. That’s the sanitized saying of the same feeling. In all these cases this week people have been acting YOJ. Huh?

Maybe you’ve heard this one… JOY? Short for Jesus, Others, Yourself. It’s a simple saying and while I don’t wake up with it every morning, it’s a helpful reminder when I come to hard decisions or when it’s time to evaluate something I think the Lord is telling me to do.

Anyways, when you flip that around on me, I get rather ticked, especially if you claim to be a Christian. What’s interesting is how God has been tapping me on the shoulder on this one – my reaction to the YOJ, is to be more YOJ! Didn’t see that one coming.

Forgiving those so that I may be forgiveable…dag-gum!

    i feel your pain.

the outrage i feel at the un-sanctified behavior of some christian folk makes me act down right un-sanctified. it’s hard to take the high road, really hard.
